It’s been a few days since I was inspired.  Real Talk last week ended on a difficult note and I was not inspired.  My wife’s cousin, who was really like her younger brother, died last Thursday.  He was 50 years old.  This was another difficult blow that has taken another male from my wife’s side of the family.

“We Mourn”

“Pain like this acts like a boomerang that brings back echoes of other difficult times.   Difficult times we have tried to distance ourselves from but are slingshot back to re-live and mourn anew.   She is a difficult dance partner, I say she, she being life, is a fickle dance partner,  she dances the beautiful dance but then trades you to that wallflower of eternal sleep.  That sleep that hears no music and dances no dance.  And yet it’s not me that was traded but another gentle soul and now I have to continue that dance.  So I dance the dance and wear the mask of a smile.”Vecus2024

“We Celebrate” 

“But then she dances the dance of life and birth and we celebrate.  We rejoice another year of our son's day of birth, also know as his birthday, so “She” is that fickle dance partner that sways on the tip of that eternal sleep but then rebounds with a shine that brightens the wallflower and wakes us from our slumber.  Ahhh life is a fickle dance partner.   So to that wallflower, I say adieu.  I choose to dance with my fickle dance partner and celebrate the beautiful music of life until she decides to dance no more.” Vecus2024

We cried and will cry again, but we celebrated and will continue to celebrate the blessings of life.

To my son Demarcus, who I am so proud of, Happy Birthday.  You have grown into a Man and a great Father continue on your path.  I love you.
