It's been a busy few weeks, time to press the work pause button and hit the mini vacation play button.
While I’m away, I’ll remain committed to keeping my Mind, Body, and Soul healthy.
Life is about balance. Balance the professional work-hard times with the personal play-hard times.
I firmly believe any success we find in life is much more meaningful when we have internal balance and a healthy balance between our personal and professional lives.
And before you start side-thinking, I'm not saying I have that equation perfectly figured out. I have only just started to understand my internal portion of the equation. I'm starting to understand what motivates Vecus, and what are the things that truly make Vecus happy.
I used to look to others for that solution. When I was young, I would fight because I was good at it. Then it was sports because I was around people and unbeknownst to me, a natural leader. Then it was women because I needed someone to protect. Then it was creating something in the form of businesses, because it made me feel good, I felt like I was helping others, I believed that was my calling. Then it was wife, children, friends family, and career. As you can tell, I’m that all in kind of guy.
But then maybe you lose a few family members, some friends drift away, the kids have their lives and their families. The career is satisfying and has served and continues to serve its purpose, my wife is still my ride or die. But on a random Thursday at 2:00 am in a hotel room in Oklahoma City Oklahoma when I'm up alone, I only have me. I reflect on the many travel nights after working long days and I understand how I got to where I am. This internal balance, or as I call it, internal peace, was not forged in a day, a week, or even a year, it has been forged over 10 years.
I exhale because I am in a good place internally, and yes it has taken some time, but like anything, the more time it takes the more you appreciate it.
I'm still working on the professional and personal balance, but I've gotten much better.
My wife says I share too much, she‘s probably right, but I wouldn't be me if I didn't.
Have a great Wednesday
Stay safe!
