Vee’s Inspiration June 6, 2025

I thought about something I've heard from people who are older than me and also from a doctor.  I'm paraphrasing the message, “When you look at the senior population of the world, you don't see a large portion of overweight people.”

People who know me, know that I sometimes correlate seemingly abstract information together.

That powerful message about weight and mortality is not really about weight to me.  It’s more about decision-making and judgment.  This got me thinking about something else,  I’ve known some tough rough people over the years, but the ones that are still here with us are the ones that started to make better decisions.  By no means am I casting judgment.  I used to be one of those people who was tough and had a rough side and made some bad decisions, and I would not be here today if I had not started making better decisions.  Real talk,  that decision-making process does not go away after you've made some good decisions,  it’s a minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by-day exercise in judgment and control.

You might ask, “Vecus why are you telling us this story?” When I stepped on the scale on June 1st I was 238 lbs.  12 lbs heavier than I was on May 1st.  I made the correct eating and training decisions this week.  When I stepped on the scale this morning, June 6th I weighed 227lbs.  I lost 11lbs in a week because of my decision-making process.      11lbs is extreme and most is water loss, but it’s proof of concept.  The quality of our lives is primarily based on the quality of the decisions we make.

Continue to make good ones…
