Ode to Kobe…
As many of you know, for me this is the year of Kobe. Every month on the 24th day of the year 2024, I give a tribute to Kobe Bryant and the lessons I've learned from his on and off-the-basketball court persona. I think Kobe is one of the greatest players to ever play basketball, but I also think his life story is fascinating.
I agree when it is said, “You will truly be known by the way people remember you once you are gone.” So many people live their lives in a way to improve their life or the lives of their family while they are living. I wonder how many people live their lives in a way that creates a legacy. A story of something that becomes greater than something they could have ever imagined. I believe that was one of Kobe Bryant's life goals. I've never met him, but as I read and listened to the thousands of interviews he gave during his life, It is clear how intentional he was about every aspect of his life. I believe one of his goals was to create a persona, a legend if you will, that lives and teaches future generations. Thank you Kobe for forcing us to think about the footprints we leave for future generations.
