Vee’s Inspiration July 18, 2025
I’m in a group committed to doing a “Murph” on or around Memorial Day 2026. We use a GroupMe thread to encourage, motivate, vent, check in on, and support each other. One of the guys on the thread sent a message saying, “He was not feeling like working out two days ago or yesterday, but he was not going to miss 2 days in a row”. I liked his post, but that comment sat with me all evening and night. I woke up still thinking about it. Real talk: I’m pretty sore from yesterday's hard workout, and I'm tired because yesterday was a long workday outside of Atlanta. I was able to complete my double workout last night, but wanted to stay in bed this morning and cheat on myself by missing my morning workout commitment. And then there was my “Murph” Groupme’s buddy’s comment pinging inside my brain all night. That ping motivated me to get up and honor my workout commitment.
Sometimes the workout is not a physical challenge, but a mental and emotional challenge.
Sometimes, motivation does not come from within us but is inspired by others outside of us.
My guy Adler, thank you for honoring your commitment to yourself and reminding me of my commitment to myself.
Have a great Friday!
