Vee’s Inspiration September 27, 2023
We took a chance on each other 21 years ago. Though a chance, it was a calculation that was born 12 years before that. Not many people know our story or know our journey. Most people don't know we met at Krogers on Ponce. We both worked there. She was that cool girl who knew everyone and was about that life. I was that guy from New York who was a vegetarian at the time and who just started working in the Nutrition section. All her friends thought I was a “Lame” which was cool. I was that smart “Lame” with New York Swag. I'm not sure who spoke to who first, but I know she gave me grief about a few girls I knew. Fast forward a few months we became fast friends. She was my go-to when I needed some advice. Of course, she gave me her opinion on everything. As I reflect on our journey together. Our initial friendship is what has helped us over the years. We have had challenges like all married people have had and Real Talk, there have been times when this thing we call marriage was bad, and times when each of us was ready to “hang up our cleats” and go our separate ways. But that was not God's plan for us. After struggling, hardships, personal loss, personal growth, maturity, success, prayers, and blessings we are still together. As my wife has often said to me and others, “he gets on my nerves and there are times when I can't stand him, but I have always loved him”
To my ride or die, my partner when I'm right, my conscience when I'm wrong, my weight when I get too high, my air when I’m too low, my health when I'm sick, my motivation when I'm tired, my inspiration when I'm slacking, my determination when everyone is against me. Happy Us Day! Thank you for 33 years of love, Friendship and Support and 21 years of us building this foundation for our family.
Question- Do you think you can Rock with me for 50 more years?
Have a great Wednesday!
Stay safe!
