Vee’s Inspiration October 17, 2024
Sometimes you find yourself in tough situations, you might question everything and everyone, but have you questioned yourself? Have you asked yourself what did you do to create this situation? What have you done to solve the problem you created? What hard choices have you made to correct your situation?
I often deal with people who love to talk because it sounds good or love to rationalize or my personal favorite, love to blame others for their problems. I shake my head when asked by these people what they can do to fix their problem. They seem receptive to my suggestions and sound motivated to make the hard decisions, but 1 month later they are doing the same behaviors that created their problems. When they come back and ask for advice I give them the same message I gave them prior, but I try to package it differently, with a different tone and a different angle. They seem receptive to my message and sound eager to make the same hard decisions I suggested previously. 3-9 months later they are doing the same behaviors that created their problems. When they come back and ask for advice on how to improve their situation, I become a listener.
As I’ve gotten older, wiser, and more patient, I understand those who are lost and ignorant, meaning lacking knowledge or understanding and want to be better will ask and follow the advice the 1st time they hear it. Those who are lost, ignorant, and immature and want to be better will ask and follow advice after they’ve matured and heard it the 2nd time. Those who are ignorant, lost, immature, and unhappy with their situation, need someone to listen to them and be patient.
Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to understand this simple but complex formula before you call me home. Amen
