Vee’s Inspiration May 3, 2023
I guess it’s important to try different things. For years I’ve done well with sleeping 4-5 hours per night. I've always felt rested, I've had enough time to do various projects, and I could work out with no external time pressures. I've always felt balanced.
Last year l spoke with a sleep doctor and I've been told I have sleep apnea. I understand that's a real diagnosis with real long-term life consequences. I've also read a lot on the subject and you know, sometimes when you read stuff and hear stuff you believe stuff.
I've been doing the things the doctor has told me to do, including trying to sleep for a minimum of 6-7 hours per night.
For the last two months, I have been trying to be more intentional about getting 6-7 hours of sleep per night. It's amazing the way my life has been turned upside down by trying to sleep for an extra 2 hours per night. I feel more tired, I have less time to do the self-balancing things I've always done, I'm less productive, less creative, and feel slightly more on edge. So while I will continue to listen to the doctor for most things, I have to listen to my body on the getting 2 more hours of sleep thing. I'm going back to my 4-5 hours of sleep per night.😉
My wife says sometimes I share too much. I tell her, life experiences are meant to be shared, and hopefully, 🤞🏽some of my experiences help others.
Have a great Wednesday!
Stay safe
