Vee’s Inspiration March 17, 2025
Thank you Lord for giving me the strength to do something I've wanted to do for years, but was afraid to do. I am grateful for your mercy and protection.
Thank you to my wife for being my #1 support person. She does not always give me my flowers the way I think I want them, but she always gives me my flowers the way I need them.
Thank you to my cousins who showed up and supported me on this first step of my journey. They could have chosen to do some other things, but they chose to show up.
Thank you to all the people who texted, checked in, and cheered me on from a distance, I appreciate every one of you.
Sometimes the goals you set are not the goals you get. I set a goal to compete in my 1st Spartan Race since my back surgery in 2017. The goal I received was the confirmation that hard work and the willingness to do something uncomfortable and scary can repair insecurities and self-doubt.
My only mission was to compete and finish. I told myself if my back or knee started to hurt, I would just walk it. Guess what? Your boy jogged most of the 4-mile 20-obstacle course and finished the race in the 50th percentile, 1017 out of 2051 participants, not too bad. Could I have gone faster? Absolutely, but it was not about going fast, it was about finishing. Now the real work begins… my next race is on March 29.
Thank you for all the love and support
Have a Great Day and Stay Safe.
