Real talk, yesterday I was mentally fucked up. The loss of my track friend, Neil, hit me differently. We weren’t the closest of friends, but we shared a common bond, being on the Brooklyn Tech Track Team. Those who know anyone who went to Brooklyn Tech know we are all family and have a weird sense of family. So yesterday was a day of silent mourning. I'm still feeling down, but I give myself 48 hours of grace and then I have to move forward. If I don't, I risk getting trapped by negative thoughts. Today is my moving forward day. If I was short or impatient yesterday, I apologize.
Thank you Ken for your words of condolences. Thank you Steven for allowing me to talk about how I put things in boxes to compartmentalize and move on, and thank you for the advice of having to unpack those boxes at some point. Thank you Kim, DJ, and Devyn, our neighbor, for inviting us over for hibachi, I was dead tired, but the great food and conversation helped. And thank you, Lord God, for allowing me to grieve quietly and still be able to function.
My Day 2 of being Great in July.
I woke up at 3:00 am and drank 12oz of hot dandelion tea.
Took the dogs outside
Returned thanks to God
