2 down and at least 50 more to go.

Last night we had our 2nd date night of the year.  We are committed to having at least 1 date night per week.

Some People might think “Date Night” has to be something extravagant,  I would counter that by saying “Date Night” has to be…

1. Intentional

2. Drama free and

3. Enjoyable

Here’s what we did last night…

We went and picked up some pizza and a Mediterranean salad from Italian Pie and for dessert, we went to Publix and grabbed some cinnamon buns from their bakery.  Real Talk… they make them fresh every few hours and they are banging.  Trust me.  When we got back home, it was freezing outside, so we lit a fire, set up her two favorite TV stands, turned on the TV, and watched the end of The Cleveland Browns vs. Texas game and then the 1st half of the Dolphins vs Kansas City game.  

So there you have it,  2-3 hours of intentional, drama-free fun with my favorite lady.  

But I want to keep it 100.  Our marriage is not and has not been perfect.  I don’t want people to think we have this fairytale-type marriage where everything is perfect.  Trust me we have had our rough patches, our “I can’t stand you” patches, our “Is this really what we want to do?” patches, our “I love you but Im not in love with you” patches, our one and a half foot out the door patches, and we’ve also have had our “I’m so proud of you patches, “Dam you fine” patches,  “you sick, but I got you” patches,  “Look what we’ve done together” patches, and the “I got you no matter what” patches.   So this has not all been “A Box of Chocolate”

We’ve been friends since 1990.  We've seen each other at very low times and on the “top of the world times”.  We’ve seen each other go away and do different things,  but we ended up where God has put us, Together.  So I’m thankful.   Once a week we choose to take time to celebrate being together.
