Vee’s Inspiration February 8, 2025

You might have had a tough yesterday, a tough last night, or just a rough night's sleep. Some days you wake up and don’t feel your best mentally, physically, or emotionally.

What do you do?

Do you go back to bed and try a do-over?  Do you get up and try to push through it?  Do you sit in that funk and spread that negative energy to everyone you come in contact with? Do you fake it and pretend everything is good?  Do you bow your head to pray or fall on your knees to perform Salat? Do you say “F-it” and go to the gym?  Do you say “F-it” and take a drink?  Do you say “F-it” and pop a pill?

What do you do?

My journey…

I try to think of my why,  that distant illusion pie in the sky.  That dream that never seems to be my dream,  just a gleam in the eye of a child.  That gleam might be a wild uncanny flight into a world that only the privileged minds can unfurl.  And bypass the work that I was told I had to do to lead my family to a different destiny that awaits those who aren’t kin to those who see the light that is birth in the East and settles in the West.  I try to think of my why when I wake up uninspired and tired.  Do I see that glimmer of light that will peel the negative cover of thought that wrapped my defenseless mind during my last night's slumber?  That glimmer of light that will turn into a wildfire and ignite the seeds that lay dormant ready to be nurtured by something negative or positive.  Seeds that have no distinction but grow based on the energy that flows in them and through them.  So I try to change my energy and leave that negative funk in the desert of my dreams and walk through the mirage of self-doubt and insecurity to my previous state of reality.  I am thankful and appreciative of this moment in time when I can reflect on the negative path I took from the time I woke to my current state of being positive and thankful.

My mental journey this morning was a difficult one.  I was in a really bad mood for no obvious reason.  It was early,  2:10am to be exact, I did not want to bother anyone.  So I decided to do the things that have always helped me during difficult times, working out and writing.  I went downstairs to walk on the treadmill and write.  My wife says, “I share too much”, but that’s what makes me.

This morning’s Vee’s Inspiration was my journey from a negative mental place in my mind to a more positive mental deposition.  Thank you for allowing me to share…
