Mind, Body and Soul Check-In


Yesterday I did my weekly weigh-in, I'm at 256.8, which is down 8lbs since 2/2.  Real talk losing 8lbs in 10 days sounds good and don't get me wrong, it is good, but I realize and I want to make sure others realize that's a normal weight loss amount for almost anyone who does a few simple things.  I'll mention the changes I've made since February 2nd in a future inspiration 


1st win- the 8lbs loss for me is all water weight.  Most people will lose 5-20lbs of water weight initially.  This weight loss is what others see first.  It's why you feel less bloated.  This is considered your first win with your weight loss / get fit journey.  The first win has to be psychological.  It's what causes external recognition and praise, which creates internal motivation to continue.


Our 2nd win will be to continue what we did the first two weeks while understanding we might not get the same results.  The win for weeks 2 and 3 is creating a routine then a habit.  People say it takes “21 days to create a habit,”   That might be true, but it takes 28 days to lock in a routine.  


Our 3rd win will be to push ourselves to be uncomfortable doing something uncomfortable.  What does this look like?  It's eating the right foods 6-7 days per week as opposed to 3-5 days.  It's limiting or eliminating alcohol for the next few weeks or months.  It’s doing your daily movements for 30-45min 5-6 days per week as opposed to 3-4 days. It’s resting your mind and removing yourself from toxic energy and people.  It’s holding yourself to the promise you made to yourself, even when no one is looking.  It’s repairing the fractured relationship we all have with ourselves.  It’s loving the best versions of ourselves as opposed to holding on to the worst versions of ourselves.  


Our 4th win will be to repeat our 3rd win for another month.


We win when we put the health of our Mind, Body, and Soul first.
