Vee’s Inspiration February 12, 2024

I thought I was going to talk about that great Super Bowl and that great halftime show.  Usher did his thang.  I actually had my inspiration typed, edited, and was ready to record,  but then I received a phone call at 6:30 am this morning. This call was from a young man who has all the talent in the world but has been thrown around and beaten up by this thing we call life.  We talked for 30 min.  In that conversation, he asked me to be his mentor.  He said he had been wanting to reach out to me for a while but for whatever reason  he didn't.  He mentioned ego, pride, and failure.  As we spoke I realized this was a person throwing a lifeline.  All of a sudden,  that great game and that great halftime show did not seem as important.  We worked out an initial plan to get him into a routine and get some small wins.  He seemed happy with that and thankful I took his call.  I'm thankful he had the courage to call.

Sometimes the things we feel are important are not the things that are important.  Lord, thank you for the lessons you continue to teach me.  I ask, if it's your will,  that I provide some guidance and encouragement to help this young man through challenging times. Thank you for reminding me of the things that truly matter, helping one another.

Amen.

Have a Great Day and Stay Safe!
