Happy Birthday from Papa…

When you are old enough, you will understand how special you are. You were born 5 year ago today, so that makes today even more special. I think about how smart you have always been. It’s kind of scary, what child can name all the dinosaurs by 2 years old? And what child can have intelligent conversations by 2 and half years old. You are special and you will do special things in life, but always remember Papa loves you and will always be here for you.

I remember both of my grandfathers, well actually I remember all three, but one did not play any real significance in my life besides the blessing of my unique name. The two that I remember helped shape the habits I have to this day. I'm not sure if their actions were intentional or just their routines that I was fortunate enough to witness, either way, they set the foundation.

Today is Lorenzo’s 5th birthday. He is my 2nd grandson. He is the one I said at birth would be the special one. His birth completes the powerful ring in my family that now spans 3 generations.

My Dad, Vecus Sr. 3/12, me, Vecus Jr. 6/12, my mom, Angelina 9/12, my grandson, Lorenzo 12/12.

My dad is arguably one of the smartest people I know, I’d say genius level, my sister takes after him, and my mom was arguably the wisest person I knew, I think I got the 60 percent mom / 40 percent dad split, Lorenzo is that elite type kid, 40/30/30. Very intelligent, wise beyond his age, and physically gifted. We understand natural gifts are just the foundation and we have to do our part to nurture his growth and development, but he has all the things needed to be special.

Happy birthday Lorenzo, I pray you have a perfect birthday with a lot of cake and ice cream!!
