Vee’s Inspiration August 22, 2024

Three years ago my wife and I decided to move from the place we called home for 17 years.  This was not a financial decision, in fact,  when I ran the numbers it was a net zero financial decision.  The positive side of the equation was something my wife said differently but with the same meaning.  She said, “This can be the home our grandkids can grow up in and enjoy.  This can be the place where the kids can come and relax.  This can be the place where friends come and gather.  This can be the place where the Family and Fam come to be together. “  Her words have been prophetic.  Our grandboys love coming over and hanging out in their room, in the basement, in the sunroom, in Vee’s Fitness, and in the pool.  The young adults use this as their resting spot between their travels to or from work, to or from friends' houses, to grab some food, or just hang with the “parentals” as they call us.  Our friends have come and enjoyed many events and gatherings.  Family and Fam have come to reconnect and rejuvenate.   This past week has been filled with Friends, Family, and Fam manifesting  the decision made 3 years ago.  A central place we all come to be together.  To laugh, joke, eat, relax, and just enjoy the gift of Family and friends.

To Dad, Uncle Jake, Barbara, Aunt Paula, and Anissia,  that conversation last night at the round table was inspiring and enlightening for me.  Thank you for your input.  My respect for each of you has grown more than I thought possible.  Thank you.

Thank you all who have been a part of one of my best vacation weeks. This is one I'll cherish and carry with me always.

And to my Son,  congratulations on your promotion.  The phrase “ I am proud of you” is an understatement of how I feel.  A perfect gift to end a perfect week.  Thank you, Darren, Salonick, Matt Lott, Derion, and all the people who have been a part of his personal and professional development.
