This is a gentle reminder to take the time to take care of yourself mentally. There is access to so much information and so much information is channeled at us, many have become mentally and emotionally desensitized. I think it's important to take a few moments each day and flush your mental and emotional systems by disconnecting and reflecting. Try this, remove yourself from any external distractions, sit in a comfortable position, inhale 4-counts hold for 4-counts, and exhale for 6-counts. This is a slight variation from the standard 4-count box technique. I developed this technique last year after having to do a bunch of breathing tests. Repeat this for 1 min, then do a 4-count inhale, 4-count hold and 8-count exhale try this for 1min, last one is a 4-count inhale, 4-count hold, and 10-count exhale do that cadence for 1 min. Reset with 3 minutes of 4-count inhale, 4-count hold and 4-count exhale. Try doing this sequence twice. It's a 12-minute breathing exercise.
I learned from the breathing lab assistant that most people don't breath correctly, and don’t get enough oxygen into our system and we also don't expel enough carbon dioxide out of our system. This reality has a significant negative underlying mental and physical impact. They had me do something much more aggressive, this technique is what I developed for me, I try to do it daily. I share, because it has helped me, perhaps it can help you or someone you know.
