A great lessons of personal and professional coaching/development - Ask “the question” oppose to making “the accusation”
It’s about the “what” or the “how” question and not the “you” accusation.
Positive Example-
“What” was missing? Or “How” do you plan on correcting? Or “What” were the parameters? Or “How” are you planning to get things back in line?
Negative Example-
“You” messed up and this can't be corrected!
Or “You” missed the parameters you can't things back in line!
I throw no stones, I've done the negative example enough times to know IT DOES NOT WORK when you are coaching and developing people. Use my cheat code... Years ago I read John Maxwell’s “Good leaders ask Great questions” and that was the beginning of me changing how I approach coaching and developing people as well as how I learn from people.
