Happy Day after Thanksgiving. I pray everyone had a wonderful day with family and friends.
I have a quick story of how life sometimes works...
If you did not get a chance to read yesterday's morning message, take a moment to read it before reading this. I couldn't have made this up if I tried.
Yesterday Anissia had just finished cooking with the help of my daughter-niece and my mom, we don't say in-laws or step-anything in our house, we had about twelve people over and we were watching the Giant/Dallas football game and were about to bless the food. All of a sudden the entire house went dark. I just sat there thinking everything would come back on.
NO SUCH LUCK.
So I do what anybody would do, internally thinking, (DID I FORGET TO PAY THE BILL??🤔) Externally checking the fuse box and then the outside connection. Nothing... I get the master flashlight and walk to the curb to check the neighbor's house, of course, the neighbors on both sides of us are out of town so their homes are dark. The power is on in the homes right across the street, (Internally- DID I FORGET TO PAY THE POWER BILL?) Then a neighbor from two doors down walked up and said their power was out also, (internally-WHEW), and it looked like it was half the subdivision out with our side of the street being the starting point, IMAGINE THAT!?! So relieved that I didn't forget to pay the bill😉, we all held hands around the food and gave thanks for all the things we have to be thankful for. I shared that story for this one point...
My son said, “as dad said in his text this morning, this is just a 1st world problem.” As a parent, something in you shifts when your children start to understand things beyond their sight or touch.
Btw the power was out for 2+ hours. So we just lit the fireplaces and the firepit outside and ate by fire and flashlight and just laughed and talked.
I'm Thankful!
Thank you for allowing me to share...
Have a great Friday!
Stay safe!
I'll get my “Gymdance” this afternoon
