Vee’s Inspiration March 25, 2025
I always speak about the indelible mark my Mom has had on my life’s trajectory. I often talk about missing her so much since her going-home date back in 2011. Moms will always be Moms and I will always think about her. I am forever grateful for her wisdom, support, and love.
But today, I want to give a shout-out and give my Dad his “Flowers”. Dad, I love you, and thank you. I understand how hard the role of a father can be. We must be that unmoving, unwavering presence that is mostly thankless and unappreciated. Our resolve is expected even when we aren’t resolved. I often think about the example you set for me as a young man. Every day you went to work, you kept us in a safe environment, you made untold sacrifices and you never complained. You would watch the news and any educational show on TV as well as read all the newspapers every day. You were present. You showed up to my academic and sports events. I never knew the sacrifices you made to be there. You have had your struggles and your setbacks as we all have, but you have always been a great example of what a man and father should be. I understand the lonely road a father often travels and because of that, I appreciate you even more. Dad, I would not be the man I’m trying to be without you being the Man you are. You can never say it too much or too often, so I’ll say it again, I love you and Thank You.
