Yesterday was an extremely long work/travel day. This was my first operational work trip to Texas. I tell you what, it was hot as heck, but the operations team there does a great job!
That being said, let me tell you about my adventure getting back to Atlanta. It was a long one, I woke up at 3:00 a.m., made it to the gym by 3:45 a.m. (had a great leg/core workout), arrived at the first restaurant by 6:40 a.m., I was able to visit 4 restaurants before heading to the airport and getting lost returning my rental car, I made it to my gate to depart by 12:15 pm, I was scheduled to leave on the 1:00 pm flight to Atlanta. Then it got fun😄. We were initially delayed because of a flat tire on the airline. We did not leave from Dallas until 1:45 p.m. I guess Atlanta was not ready for me to come back yet😄 because there were bad storms that developed while we were in the air. We ended up being rerouted to Charleston for 3.5 hours. It was a rough flight from Charleston to Atlanta. We finally made it back to Atlanta after 10:00 pm and I made it home after 11:00 pm and oh by the way, they lost my checked bag. Smh. I'm so glad today is my Friday. I only have one day off, but I'm going to enjoy it😉.
A few side notes-
I was upgraded on the flight so that was cool, but the lady next to me smelled bad and kept bumping me and fidgeting 🙄
A few passengers were complaining and fussing about being inconvenienced by the delay. Real talk, I'd rather be safe than not safe. 🤔
Nasty note - In Dallas, I used the restroom. The person mopping the restroom floors was using a floor swiffer, he then used the same floor swiffer to wipe the sink and counter area down😝. Disgusting. That's why I don't touch anything in airports.
I appreciate the patience and professionalism of the Delta airline staff in Dallas, Charleston, and the Flight attendants 👍🏽
I appreciate my experience and I am thankful that I made it back home safely.
Have a great Sunday!
Stay safe
