Vee’s Inspiration April 25, 2025

Lord,

Thank you for allowing me to  mentally get ready for my Tough Mudder Race tomorrow.  Thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement and support.  As you can see from my goal board below, I've set some reasonably challenging physical goals for myself this year.  Trust me, like you, there are mornings when I don't feel like getting up and working out, there are mornings like today when I hurt and don't want to get out of bed.  Those are the times when you grow the most.  Working through the mental fog of uncertainty and doubt.   People have told me I am built differently.  I agree,  I have a uniqueness that makes me Vecus, but we are all built with the ability to overcome uncertainty and doubt.  Real talk, the nonsurgical side of my back has been hurting since last week. My forearm and bicep, though better, are still hurting, I have an MRI scheduled this morning.   I have not been able to train properly for the last 10 days because I got a bad viral infection while I was on vacation.  I lost 5 lbs in 5 days because I could not eat.  These are all reasons for me to not do this Tough Mudder tomorrow.  But that voice in my head keeps reminding me that life is not easy.  The blessings afforded to me have not come easily.  And if it was easy you would not appreciate it as much.   Dad,  I heard your message and I will be smart about my approach tomorrow.  Ken, thank you for showing me your torn bicep and advising me to be careful.  Darren, thank you for the words of encouragement and informing me you will drink a beer for every 1/2 mile I run and And a shot for every mile I run.  That's 14 beers and 7 shots, I'm glad you will be off on Sunday. Kevin, thank you for the call fussing about how I have inspired you to get into shape and sign up for the Spartan Race in October,  God willing I will see you there. Son, thank you for saying I motivate you to be better.  Anissia, who is now a fitness junkie like me, Thank you for walking this fitness journey with me,  it has been a lonely journey for a while, and it’s cool to have someone to share it with.  Lord,  thank you for things seen and unseen.  Thank you for blessing me with family and friends that encourage and support me.  Thank you for giving me the courage to work through difficult situations and the single-mindedness to do it alone if need be.  I am thankful.
