“I Share...”

One of my of “lil brothers reminded me of something yesterday. I called him to check in on him and his family and to ask him for help with something. After catching up, we hung up. I did not ask him for help, my pride. He called me right back and said, Vecus did you need something? He then said, you know we're family whatever you or Anissia need, I got you, I'll rearrange my schedule for y'all. His matter-of-fact statement took me by surprise. Sometimes my pride gets the best of me and in my head, I think I can manage anything without asking other people for help. I know it's my dumb pride, but I get that way sometimes. Smh.

To my lil brother, ”I appreciate you. More importantly, I appreciate you seeing through my “sometimes macho.”

Thank you for the reminder and the lesson.

I share my flaws because maybe we all at times let our pride get in the way.
